Since 2001, OOSH Northern Beaches has had the privilege of supporting children and families across 14 different school communities on the Northern Beaches.

As a proudly privately owned and locally operated provider, we continue to offer safe, nurturing and engaging care through our four current services. Our programs support children and families before school, after school and during vacation care, with a strong focus on wellbeing, connection and community.

Owner and Approved Provider, Chris Hegarty, has lived on the Northern Beaches his entire life and has been involved in Outside School Hours Care since 1996, beginning with the Cromer Kids Club parent committee. After five years of voluntary committee involvement, Chris established OOSH Northern Beaches with the aim of providing reliable, family-focused and professionally managed care for local school communities.

Chris remains committed to maintaining a service culture where children feel safe, welcomed and valued. He is supported by a dedicated management team and passionate educators who share the belief that Outside School Hours Care should be more than supervision — it should be a place where children can build friendships, feel supported and enjoy their time before and after school.

Chris Hegarty

Chris Hegarty has lived on the Northern Beaches his entire life and has a long history of involvement in local children’s services and community-based care.

Chris first became involved in Outside School Hours Care in 1996 through the Cromer Kids Club parent committee. After five years of voluntary committee involvement, he established OOSH Northern Beaches in 2001 with a vision to provide safe, reliable and family-focused before and after school care for local families.

With a background in business and service management, Chris has worked to build OOSH Northern Beaches into a privately owned, locally operated provider that values strong relationships with children, families, educators and school communities.

Chris believes that quality OOSH care should provide more than supervision. His focus is on creating welcoming environments where children feel safe, supported and connected, while families can feel confident their children are being cared for by a committed and professional team.
